For anyone who wants to paint, whether you’ve never used oil paints before or already have experience and want more time, space, and guidance to develop your work.
This is a relaxed, hands-on oil painting class for every level. Each 2-hour class stands on its own, so you can come for one class or join us throughout the autumn season.
Everyone works at their own pace, with individual guidance from the teacher. If you’re new to oil painting, you’ll learn the basics — how to work with paint, brushes, colour, composition, and different painting techniques. If you already paint, you can use the class to experiment, develop your own work, or get feedback and support.
Each session introduces something to explore, but there is no expectation that everyone makes the same thing or works in the same way. Michael teaches these classes as a working studio: the process matters as much as the finished painting. Bring your curiosity, try things out, make mistakes, and see where the work takes you.
Join a small, intimate group of people with different levels of experience, all making and learning alongside one another.
