Listening Club

from DKK 50.00

What can we learn about our own messy creative process by just listening closely to how others get through theirs?

Since 2018, Curious Neighbours (Gus Guerrero) has sat down with more than 200 people across the Nordics to talk about creativity, identity, and the rhythms of everyday life. Artists, writers, musicians, designers, filmmakers, and many others who make things in their own way and have chosen to build their lives around that. Most of those conversations have never been shared publicly.

The Listening Club opens up this archive as a space for thinking together about our own creative lives. The plan is simple: gather a small group in the same room, play a few audio clips from these interviews, give a bit of context on who's speaking, where the conversation took place, and why that particular moment resonated.

We listen together, then we talk. Someone may say something in passing that changes how you hear a particular clip, or perhaps someone else recognizes their own experience in it, or finds it completely foreign, and just by talking through that, we all end up somewhere unexpected.

Gus co-hosts these session with Chuva, co-founder of Demeter.
The two were introduced by a mutual friend earlier this year and bonded over many conversations about what it actually feels like to make things, and how their experiences shape their work, which is exactly what this evening is about.

The theme of the recordings changes monthly and this month’s theme is “Being seen and unseen”
